In this post, we'd like to let you know about a new feature that we're introducing to the Vemedio blog. This new type of post is called 'Spotlight', and it's intended to share which podcasts we've been enjoying recently.
We're pleased to launch this feature by sharing our thoughts on 'The Psych Files' – a podcast that aims to make psychology accessible to both new students and life-long learners. The Psych Files has recently celebrated it's 200th episode, and the podcast is well established in the realms of higher education. Although the show's host, Dr. Michael Britt, presents his content in an informal manner, intending to make his subject more accessible to those outside of this particular academic sphere, he does so without compromising the integrity of the subject matter. Further, the show also aims to give practical benefits to listeners, including topics such as boosting self-esteem, recognising persuasion tactics that salesmen use and learning how to read body language. Finally, the show can also be a lot of fun, and certain episodes are specifically geared towards pop culture: a particular favourite is episode 138, which asks why people are fascinated by zombies!
Feel free to subscribe to The Psych Files through Instacast's directory, and if you're a psychology student, or simply someone who's interested in expanding their learning, then you should definitely check it out.
If you have a podcast that you'd like to be part of our Spotlight feature, please get in touch with us via our contact form.
