Instacast Available

Inspired by the high quality content of the mighty 5by5 broadasting network we have been secretly developing a new iPhone for the last 2 months, which has now seen the light of day. It's a great new way of consuming audio and video podcasts on your iPhone and iPod touch.

Initially I was consuming my podcast subscriptions with iTunes as everybody does these days. But I was so annoyed with the wired syncing and disk storage it uses that I thought I need something else. Having tried other podcast apps on the App Store just frustrated me even more. This is were I decided that something else is needed. Something that is mobile, storage effective and refreshes feeds without the need for wired syncing. And thus the idea of Instacast was born.

If you have an iPhone or an iPod touch, Instacast is now everything you need to consume your podcast subscriptions wherever you go. Manage subscriptions, preload at home for bandwidth free mobile use, listen and watch with great comfort. Instacast makes intense use of Multicasting on iOS 4. Listen e.g. to Dan Benjamin on 5by5 and follow his show notes on the web. Share insteresting foundings with your friends and enjoy a whole universe of audio and video entertainment.

Instacast has a built-in Online Directory that contains 9000 and counting audio and video podcast from all over the world in multiple languages. The app is localized to English, Japanese and German. Get it from the App Store.
