I am pleased to present today the newest version of Snowtape. There has been a lot of improvements under the hood and some cool visual changes. You guys are asking a lot and demand a whole bunch of features, which is absolutely great! I am so pleased that you all take so much care. But here we go.
This was a number one priority for me. After all you can't make much use of a radio recording application if you don't have radio stations. In this version Snowtape makes it a lot more easy to stay up to date with the Online Radio Directory. As more stations are coming in they get automatically downloaded after application start. Currently there are over 750 radio stations available.
The user interface got a little refresh. I optimized the radio list so that it is now using the screen estate a lot more effectively. There is now a lot more space to display title, description and genre.
The cover view for audio tracks has changed. I got rid of the jewel case because it was simply not flexible enough. For example you could not scale the items to your preferred size, which you can do now. Also the display of the album artwork is a lot more clear now. Should be easier for you to spot the track you are searching for.
When playing an audio track you now get an iTunes style playback progress slider inside the playback information display. You can use it skip to other parts of the track without using the editor or keyboard shortcuts. This was also a number one user request.
Version 1.1 also features tight Spotlight and QuickLook integration. Use the spotlight system menu bar to search for a particular radio station or for a track you recently recorded. Spotlight will open Snowtape and starts playback accordingly. It will also show you which station/track you selected with Spotlight.
Preferences got a polish, too. And with that I integrated two new options. You can now choose where to store the Snowtape database folder and you can tell Snowtape to automatically delete commercials (clips that are less the 60 seconds long).
I am also please to announce that after I got my hands on the newest Snow Leopard built this week I could make Snowtape fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard 10A380. If you encounter any bug I did not find in my test, please let me know. You can watch a little Snow Leopard tour on YouTube.
... and much more. You can find the complete list of changes in the release notes as usual. I hope you like it and make sure you update today! This can be done via the integrated update mechanism or directly from the Snowtape website.
