Update to Snowtape Beta 3
That‘s it. The list of features for the final 1.0 release is finished. This new version is the last major Beta. Snowtape is now a really good package and I think you will love it. This version includes the following improvements:
New Mini Controller
The new Mini Controller is a valuable addition if you listen or record a lot in the background. It is equipped with buttons for Play/Pause and Record. You can change the volume and see what‘s currently playing. During a recording the Mini Controller gets a little bigger and makes space for the recording timer. No need to have the main window using all of your screen anymore!
RadioURL.com - Short Radio URLs
I am very proud to present my new webservice RadioURL.com. RadioURL is a service for shortening big long ugly URLs to all kinds of radio streams. All you need to do is take the URL to RadioURL.com and make a new short URL that is a lot prettier for posting in e-mails, blogs or Twitter. But that‘s not all! Anybody who clicks on this URL can listen to the radio station immediately. RadioURL.com automatically forwards the link to Snowtape, which imports the URL and starts streaming in a blink of an eye. Snowtape integrates this service for you so that you don‘t even have to go to the RadioURL.com website. Just send your mail or twitter from within the app.
Integration of iTunes Music Store
And this is the best feature of all. The complete iTunes music catalog comes to Snowtape. You‘re not satisfied with the recording or was the radio speaker talking too much? No problem! Click on the small arrow button of the currently selected audio track and get automatically forwarded to the relevant iTunes Music Store entry. Additionally Snowtape shows the currently played track in the lower left corner of the window.
System Wide Hot Keys
This is also something many of you requested. From this version on you can configure system wide hot keys for the „Play/Pause“ and „Record“ buttons. The initial hot keys are ⇧F5 for „Play/Pause“ and ⇧F6 for „Record“.
